..................just from my own view may descripe followings:-
- for 4 cylinders the most engine will timing ignite 1-3-4-2........that means 1 to 3, 3 to 4 and 4 to 2 still got wide gap range
while ignition firing which created longer vibrations!
- but 6 cylinders for the most may set timing as 1-5- 3-6-2-4...........so in one revolution cycle as per the same rpm. of 4 cy.
thier firing ignition closer sequential and more smoother than 4 cy. engine as you may notice of engine moving quite sound!

PS. to modifying i would suggest go for L6 which much riding more powerful torque and horses than V6 or those junior 4 cy.
