ฮอนด้าเรียกคืนฟิต-แจ๊ส หลังพบสวิตช์กระจกไฟฟ้ามีปัญหา

       สำนักข่าวต่างประเทศ รายงานว่า บริษัทฮอนด้า ผู้ผลิตรถยนต์ยักษ์ใหญ่ของญี่ปุ่น แจ้งให้เจ้าของรถยนต์นั่งขนาดเล็กยอดนิยม รุ่นฟิตและแจ๊สมากกว่า 696,000 คันทั่วโลกให้จอดอยู่ด้านนอก เพราะสวิตช์กระจกไฟฟ้า มีปัญหาสามารถก่อให้เกิดไฟไหม้ได้ โดยฮอนด้ากำลังเรียกคืนซับคอมแพค ทั้ง 2 รุ่น ที่ผลิตจากปี 2550 และ 2551 อีกทั้งยังแจ้งให้เจ้าของรถรุ่นที่มีปัญหาทั้ง 2 รุ่น ให้จอดรถไว้ในอู่ซ่อม จนกว่าทางบริษัทจะตรวจสอบสวิตช์ประตูด้านข้างคนขับ
          ผู้ผลิตยานยนต์ยักษ์ใหญ่แดนอาทิตย์อุทัย กล่าวว่า น้ำสามารถเล็ดลอดเข้าไปขังอยู่ในประตูได้โดยผ่านกระจกที่เปิดออก และมันสามารถทำให้สวิตช์เกิดความเสียหาย จนเป็นให้เกิดความร้อนสูง และอาจถึงขั้นไฟไหม้ได้เลย
          อย่างไรก็ตาม ทางบริษัทระบุว่า ปัญหาดังกล่าวไม่ได้ส่งผลให้มีผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บ ส่วนการเรียกคืนรถนั้น เป็นรุ่นฟิตมากกว่า 143,000 คันในสหรัฐฯ และประมาณ 35,000 คันในแคนาดา

In January 2010, Honda recalled the cars, but the repairs weren't "sufficiently robust to ensure that all switches would be completely sealed against all possible moisture intrusion," Honda said in a statement. All of the melted switches and fires happened before the first recall, Martin said.

Under the new recall, owners will be asked to take their cars to dealers, who will inspect the switches. If there's damage, the switches will be replaced. If there's no damage, the cars will go back to the customers until enough parts are available to replace all of the switches, Honda said. After the inspections, owners can safely park the cars in garages again, Martin said.

The repairs will be made for free. Honda will start notifying owners about the recall in mid-July."

Honda tells some Fit owners to park cars outside

DETROIT Honda (HMC) is urging the owners of more than 686,000 Fit and Jazz subcompacts worldwide to park them outside because the power window switches can catch fire.

The company said Friday that it is recalling Fit and Jazz cars from the 2007 and 2008 model years. It's telling owners not to park them in garages until driver's side door switches can be inspected.
