1. On December 8, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles confirmed that the second-gen Amarok II pickup, developed by Ford on the basis of the new Ranger pickup, will be produced in South Africa at Fords Silverton plant, and also that production of the Amarok I will continue at the VW Argentina plant in Pacheco.
2.December 7, 2021, Ford Motor announced its largest-ever single investment in Thailand for the manufacturing operations with a USD 900 million (THB 28 billion) investment in new technologies and systems. Part of the Ford+ plan for growth and value creation, the investment supports production of the next-gen Ranger pickup truck, due to be launched in mid-2022, and Everest SUV. This brings Fords cumulative investments in Thailand to over USD 3.4 billion (THB 100 billion) over 25 years. The modernization program bolsters Thailands role as a global production and export base for Ford, through its wholly-owned Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) and joint-venture AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) truck plant, which are both making significant efforts to support environmentally friendly initiatives
