Please let me share my first hand experience: I used to have two Camaros back when I was studying in the States (1993-1996). Bought the V6 model first, thinking yesss....I am biting into a real american beef, with cheap price (paid 13K for it). Not quite. To my disappointmet, it was not an experience I was expecting. The V6 didn't feel right, didn't pull with titanic low end torque and last but not least, it didn't sound properly to suit the word "American Muscle". Two weeks after that, I had to trade my V6 for the LT1 Z28 and laughted like a mad man out of the dealer lot all the way home. The V8 burbled, roared and pulled viciously from the stand still with authority. Wheel spin, burning out tyres are just a mash of the throttle away. Still make me smile thinking back of that feeling when i'm writing this memoir hehehe

If you want efficiency go with the turbo. But if you want a real american taste go V8. You CAN'T just look at the acceleration numbers and simply compare them thinking, geeze..... the 2.3 turbo acceleration is just very close to the V8, I should buy the 2.3 turbo then...... No, It doesn't work that way. There are some
qualitative parameters that you just can't measure with numbers!
Moral to the story: There is no replacement for displacement,
Trust me, I've paid for my lesson.
